League of Women Voters of Jacksonville First Coast Hosts

“Meet and Greet the Duval County Mayoral Candidates”

Event will be held on March 12, 2023, at the Jacksonville Main Public Library

JACKSONVILLE, FLA., February 3, 2023 -- The League of Women Voters of Jacksonville First Coast (LWVFC) will host a “Meet & Greet the Mayoral Candidates” on March 12 in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Jacksonville Public Main Library, use the lower level entrance at 304 N. Main Street, from 2 to 4 p.m. EST.

This event is an informal opportunity for Jacksonville residents to get to know and speak candidly with the candidates. The qualifying candidates listed below have been invited to attend.

“Thomas Jefferson said, ‘we do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority of people who participate.’ Our current mayor, Lenny Curry, was elected by just 24% of the voters registered in Duval County,” said Lanelle Phillmon, president, LWVJFC. “With the upcoming election on March 21, 2023, we hope all voters will join us for this event so they can cast an informed vote.”

Voters looking for more in-depth information on the candidates are encouraged to visit Vote411.org. Launched by the League of Women Voters Education Fund, Vote411.org is a non-partisan one-stop shop featuring general and state-specific election information. Constituents can find everything from key election and registration dates to the Supervisor of Elections (for sample ballots, polling locations and more) to detailed voter guides outlining where candidates stand on important issues.
